Terms of Service

1. Service Description

Hive Memory is a free web application that helps you extract, structure, and own your AI memory. We generate AI portraits ("Mirror") from data you upload, provide public profile pages, sharing tools, and export functionality.

2. Account Registration

To use Hive, you must create an account using a valid email address or Google OAuth. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. You must be at least 16 years old to create an account.

3. Your Data, Your Ownership

You retain full ownership of all data you upload and all portraits generated from it. We do not claim any intellectual property rights over your content. You grant us a limited license to store and display your public profile as configured by you.

4. AI-Generated Content

Mirror portraits are generated by artificial intelligence (Claude by Anthropic). AI-generated observations are based on patterns and may not be fully accurate. They should not be used as the sole basis for hiring, evaluation, or any important decisions. Portraits are labeled as "AI-verified" to indicate AI generation, not factual verification.

5. Public Profiles

When you enable a public profile, your portrait data, display name, and username become publicly accessible via a unique URL. You are responsible for the information displayed on your public profile. Public profiles may be indexed by search engines and shared on social media platforms.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Upload data belonging to other people without their consent
• Create profiles impersonating other individuals
• Use the service for illegal purposes or to discriminate
• Attempt to access other users' data or accounts
• Use automated tools to scrape profiles or data
• Reverse engineer or attack the service

7. Free Service & Pricing

Hive is currently free to use. We reserve the right to introduce paid features in the future. Existing free features will remain free. We will provide at least 30 days notice before any pricing changes that affect existing users.

8. Data Deletion

You can delete all your data at any time from your dashboard or by contacting us. Deletion is permanent and irreversible. We will remove all stored data within 30 days of your request.

9. Export & Portability

You can export your portrait data at any time in JSON, Markdown, or plain text format. Exported data includes a reference to Hive as the generating platform. You are free to use your exported data in any way you choose.

10. Premium Subscriptions

Personal Pages are a premium feature requiring an active subscription after the 14-day free trial. Plans: $3/month or $19/year.

Trial: Your 14-day trial starts when you first create a Personal Page. No credit card required. After the trial, your page goes offline until you subscribe.

Billing: Payments are processed by Stripe. Subscriptions auto-renew. You can cancel anytime via the billing portal — your page remains active until the end of the paid period.

Refunds: Full refund available within 7 days of first payment. No refunds for partial billing periods after that.

Price changes: We will notify you at least 30 days before any price increase. You may cancel before the new price takes effect.

11. Limitation of Liability

Hive is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to fitness for a particular purpose and accuracy of AI-generated content.

We are not liable for: damages arising from AI-generated portrait inaccuracies, data loss, service interruptions, or decisions made based on portrait content. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount paid by you in the 12 months preceding the claim, or EUR 50, whichever is greater.

AI Disclaimer: AI-generated portraits are informational only. They are not verified assessments and should not be used as the sole basis for hiring, evaluation, or any consequential decisions.

12. Intellectual Property

The Hive name, logo, and platform design are our intellectual property. The "HIVE" branding included in exports and shared profiles must not be removed or obscured.

13. Changes to Terms

We may update these terms. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance. We will notify users of significant changes via email or in-app notification at least 14 days before changes take effect.

14. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of Finland and the European Union. Disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Helsinki, Finland. EU consumers retain their rights under applicable consumer protection laws.
